WAR ON DRUGS // EYES TO THE WIND

Been meaning to post this song all week! Since this band is one of my favorites and is playing at Treasure Island Music Festival this weekend. At the moment I’m trying to convince my Dad to come see them with me since he’s in town (but something tells me he isn’t the festival type).

This song is the epitome of a perfect song — Casually familiar (reminding me of Bob Dylan), hazy, breezy lyrics and tempo that are metaphorical. My favorite snippet:

“There’s a cold wind blowing down my old road
Down the backstreets where the pines grow
Where the river splits the undertows”
