I’m heading to the greek this weekend on both Friday and Saturday to see two amazing bands. Saturday I’m so lucky to see the Head and the Heart. They’ll be touring to support their third album “Signs of Light”.

Though this album stays true to their folk roots, this time it is not through their sound but through their written words and themes. Loneliness and darkness seem to come up often always with the light at the end of the tunnel. A simple reminder that life is hard, but there are still good things that have happened and will happen that make it all worth it.

Their sound this time around has switched from folk/ americana to an easy to digest, over produced, pop rock sound. Though, let’s keep in mind these guys aren’t playing small, intimate venues anymore so they probably had to consider a new sound that would fill the space in big venues. Overall there are some really good songs on this album. A few notable tracks:

Rhythm & Blues

False Alarm

Library Magic

Your Mother’s Eyes

Take a Walk
